Moshira El-Azhari is a contemporary Egyptian visual artist and one of the prominent names in the modern Egyptian art scene. She belongs to a generation of artists who successfully combined classical artistic values with modern experimental approaches. Her work reflects a profound human and spiritual experience, expressed through the fluidity of color, freedom of composition, and a continuous search for moments of pure artistic expression.
El-Azhari relies primarily on interwoven and overlapping lines that do more than define spaces; they create movement within the composition. For her, the line is not merely a means of describing form, but a tool for emotional expression and for generating energy within the artwork.
Her work is characterized by an expressive abstract style in which color plays a fundamental role in constructing the composition. This is reinforced through the overlapping of color layers and the free movement of the brush, reflecting varied emotional states ranging from serenity and tension to contemplation and emotional intensity. She has also participated in international group exhibitions in the United States, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates.
