“Al-Sitt Badriya at Leisure,” or simply “Om El-Kheir,” or “Om El-Kheir Listening to the Radio.” This painting is part of a series depicting Egyptian women in popular neighborhoods and the many tasks they undertake to care for their families within their modest homes. Here, she is portrayed in a moment of rest and relaxation, listening to Umm Kulthum on the radio.

She studied “Elements of Watercolor Painting” in Ottawa, Canada, under Canadian artist Sylvia Garay, and also attended art courses with artist Magd El Siguini.
She held her first exhibition at Cherif Lotfy’s “El Shaqqa” Art Gallery, followed by her first solo exhibition at Salah Taher Art Gallery at the Cairo Opera House.
For several years, she worked as a consultant at CULTNAT (Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage).
She has participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions at the American University in Cairo, Al Hanager Art Gallery, Ahmed Shawky Museum, CULTNAT, and other cultural and artistic venues.
