The nest - Moamen Ghorab

Moamen Ghorab is an Egyptian visual artist, b) 2001(, specializing in contemporary mural art and large-scale public art installations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Mural Painting, from Helwan University. He has worked as a journalist and editor for the Jordanian art platform etarfani and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Fine Arts, continuing his artistic research and creative development.
Ghorab’s practice combines traditional fine-art methodologies with contemporary techniques, exploring themes of cultural identity, spatial intervention, and collective memory. His work demonstrates technical proficiency across various media, alongside conceptual depth in visual storytelling.

This work deals with the idea of human communication and emotional relationships, and how emotions can combine people who differ in their backgrounds, personalities and ways of expressing love.

The painting is based on simplified characters of a symbolic character, so that the focus is not so much on the identity of each character as on the relationship you have with the other. Roses represent a symbol of affection, desire and communication, while the differences in clothes, colours and composition reflect the diversity of characters and their different experiences. The scene appears inside a quiet and open space, like a paused moment outside of time, allowing characters to meet and interact away from everyday details. I also use contrasting colours and brush expressive strokes to create simplicity and imagination.

Through this work, I present love as a common human language that transcends differences, and emphasises that communication and feelings are capable of creating a common space between people who may seem great distances. - Moamen Ghorab
