What We Hide - Heba Amin

Two figures stand side by side, while their features are partially concealed behind shapes that resemble masks or theatrical curtains. The painting explores the masks we create for ourselves and how what we hide from others can ultimately become part of our identity.

Heba Amin received her Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from the American University in Cairo in 1988 . Upon graduation, she started her free studies in painting and drawing, and in 2000 she participated in her first group show; the fourth annual salon of small art works and received the Salon prize. In 2012, she founded Art Lounge Cairo, an art gallery and studio space holding exhibitions and classes in many artistic fields. She held two solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions in Egypt and abroad. She also participated in several art workshops in Egypt, Greece and Albania.
