Woman - Hany Abdel-Gawad

Hany Mohamed Ahmed Abdel-Gawad, known as Hany Abdel Gawad, is an Egyptian visual artist and caricaturist specializing in portraiture and live caricature. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering and Information Technology from Helwan University (2003), as well as an Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) from Nile University.
Alongside his professional career in telecommunications and network operations, Hany has developed an extensive artistic practice focused on portraiture and caricature. He is the founder of **#Ersem_Moodak**, an initiative offering drawing workshops for children and adults, and a member of the Egyptian Caricature Society.
Hany has participated in numerous local and international art and caricature exhibitions and competitions in Egypt, Europe, and other countries. His achievements include awards from the Engineers’ Syndicate Cultural Library competitions (2017), the Ministry of Manpower’s corporate arts competitions (2018–2019), and second place in the 2019 Al-Harafeesh competition for a portrait of renowned artist Gomaa Farhat.
He has participated in several editions of the International Caricature Forum, including exhibitions dedicated to sports, Naguib Mahfouz and literature, Umm Kulthum and music, as well as exhibitions celebrating the history and memory of Egyptian caricature. His works have also been exhibited at venues including the Cairo Opera House, Prince Taz Palace, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Caricature Museum in Fayoum, and various galleries in Cairo.
Hany has also worked as an art curator and commissioner for several exhibitions and competitions, including the exhibition marking the 35th anniversary of the Egyptian Caricature Society. He has conducted portrait and caricature workshops for children and adults at universities and cultural institutions.
His work has received media coverage through Egyptian television and international media, including Reuters and Alhurra TV. He has also participated in numerous live caricature events, including events at the Greek Campus in Cairo, London Academy School, and Art2Heart at Arkan Mall.
