Affection - Ahmed Selim

This artwork, executed in oil on canvas and characterized by a warm expressive quality, depicts two people, a man and a woman, in a moment of closeness and affection, exchanging loving and intimate gazes. The woman gently leans her head toward the man, while he wraps his arm around her, expressing a sense of intimacy, warmth, and protection. The woman holds in her hands a bag or vessel in a warm orange tone, while the hands are carefully rendered to emphasize the warmth of the body language between the two figures.
The painting is dominated by warm yellow and golden ochre tones, which give the background and the woman’s clothing a sense of intimacy and warmth, with a beautiful contrast created by the green shirt and jacket worn by the man.
The painting is distinguished by its use of dark, defined lines outlining the facial features and clothing, as well as facial characteristics reminiscent of Ancient Egyptian art or Egyptian folk art, such as the wide eyes and expressive features. This is further enhanced by the pronounced texture of the brushstrokes across the canvas.

Received numerous artistic grants from the General Organization of Cultural Palaces and the Cultural Development Fund.
He has authored numerous scientific and practical research papers and publications in the field of visual arts.
He supervises numerous academic research projects conducted by researchers.
He has been active in the Egyptian visual arts movement since 1991.
He has represented Egypt in numerous international exhibitions through the Exhibitions Sector of the Ministry of Culture.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and art workshops in Egypt and abroad.
He has held numerous solo exhibitions in Egypt and abroad.
He has designed and executed numerous mural artworks for various architectural establishments in Egypt and abroad.
His works are held in the collections of institutions, embassies, and private individuals in Egypt and abroad.
Awarded the Silver Medal and Second Place at the 5th Exhibition of Innovations and Scientific Research, organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, in 2018.
He has received numerous awards, medals, and shields at various art symposiums focusing on painting and mural art, presented by public and private institutions in Egypt and abroad.
