Essam Taha He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Applied Arts, Department of Furniture and Interior Design, specializing in Decoration, Helwan University, in 1974. He also studied visual arts in Italy from 1973 to 1975.
He is a member of the Syndicate of Applied Arts Designers, the National Association of Fine Arts, and the “Sohbet Fan” Art Association.
He has been working as a designer at a firm specializing in the design and execution of interior decoration since 1980. He also served as the Director of the Greek Campus Gallery.
He has held and participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions since 1986, including exhibitions at the French Cultural Center, El Sawy Culturewheel, the Egyptian Opera House, Drob Gallery, and Art Corner Gallery. He has also participated in several editions of the General Fine Arts Exhibition and took part in the Second International El-Qurna/El-Berulus Wall and Boat Painting Forum in 2015.
His artistic participation includes exhibitions exploring diverse themes and techniques, such as “Inspired by Nature,” “Stone Compositions,” “Wire and Stone,” “The Wilderness,” “The Magic of Wires,” “Ramadan Spiritualities,” “Egyptian Spirit,” “Africa in the Heart,” and “Tales of Art.”
He has visited several European countries, including Italy, France, Monte Carlo, Nice, Spain, and Greece. His distinctive artistic experience has been featured in numerous television and radio programs, as well as newspaper and magazine interviews and articles.
His artworks are held in private collections in Egypt, the United States, Canada, France, and Switzerland.
His artistic practice is characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a particular interest in nature, materials, and innovative techniques. He is considered one of the early artists to introduce stone compositions, and he developed a distinctive approach to shaping iron and wires of different diameters without using welding. His practice also includes works using wood and watercolor still-life paintings.
His artistic experience is strongly influenced by his background in design and interior decoration, which began in 1974, as well as his exposure to international design trends, particularly the Italian school. This background is reflected in his emphasis on precision, natural materials, and intricate artistic details.
