Outlander - Samar Abo Zeed

A woman feels estranged from herself, as though she has become a stranger within her own inner world. She begins a journey into her depths, searching through layers of accumulated emotions and memories for her true self—for the part of her that was lost, and perhaps was never fully known to her before.
It is a state of inner alienation, suspended between outward strength and hidden fragility, between what she reveals to the world and what she conceals within. It is a journey of self-discovery and reclaiming her place within herself, amidst a fragmented world filled with emotions and memories.
Warm earthy tones intersect with shades of blue, violet, and green, while lines and materials overlap in accumulated layers reminiscent of the layers of memory. Together, they embody the complexity of the inner experience and its many emotional dimensions.

Samar Abo Zeed is an Egyptian artist, born in Assiut in 1989.
She graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Islamic Archaeology, in 2013. In 2018, she joined the Free Studies program at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, in Zamalek. That same year, she became a member of the One Shot Artists Group and began attending the art workshops of Murad Darwish, continuing her participation since then.
She has participated in several exhibitions, including the “Khatwa” exhibition at the Faculty of Fine Arts Gallery in Zamalek in 2018, the 43rd General Exhibition at the Palace of Arts in the Egyptian Opera House complex in 2022, the “Girls” exhibition at Art Corner Gallery in Zamalek in 2023, the “On the Road” exhibition at Cordoba Gallery in 2024, and the “She Who Paints the Sun” exhibition in Finland in 2025.
