Stick Fighting Game - Egyptian Stick Fighting - Ahmed Selim

The painting depicts a festive wedding scene in Upper Egypt, where family members and guests gather to celebrate. The men and young people perform the traditional stick fighting dance to the lively sounds of the mizmar and the beating of the naqara drums.
At the center of the scene are the stick dancers, surrounded in a circular formation by a group of guests, the naqara drummer, and mizmar players. A group of women expresses joy and celebration through their colorful traditional clothing, adding a vibrant sense of movement and happiness to the scene.
The background depicts traditional houses in southern Egypt, featuring monumental Nubian gateways richly decorated with ornamental motifs and Chinese ceramic plates embedded in the plaster. Behind the houses, a line suggesting the rocky landscape is set beneath a clear sky.
The painting’s colors are generally soft and harmonious, expressing the sense of crowdedness among the figures while emphasizing the strong bonds of social connection and community that characterize celebrations and special occasions.

Awarded the Silver Medal and Second Place at the 5th Exhibition of Innovations and Scientific Research, organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, in 2018.
He has received numerous awards, medals, and shields at various art symposiums focusing on painting and mural art, presented by public and private institutions in Egypt and abroad.
