Uncle Lozza, the Ful Vendor – Hosny Abo Bakr

When I was a child, every morning my mother would send me to buy a quarter-pound of fava beans for breakfast for her, my siblings, and me. I would go to Uncle Lozza’s fava bean shop, watching him closely and observing his movements, while taking in the aroma of the place. I would then bring the fava beans home, and we would sit together around the traditional wooden table to have breakfast.

Over time, I developed a habit of observing and storing these moments in my visual memory. Later, I discovered that I was an artist, and I began drawing from this visual memory, allowing my ideas and experiences to emerge and take shape on my canvases.

His artistic mission is documenting Egyptian heritage and creating a visual archive of paintings that preserves Egyptian identity. Participated in multiple group and solo exhibitions across Egypt since 2014.
