Wael Hamdan

Wael Hamdan was born and raised in Downtown Cairo, where he was mesmerized by its charm and rich heritage. Hamdan's professional journey extends deeply into the fields of graphics, advertising, and art direction, as well as illustration for children's books and covers. His collaborations with publishing houses across Egypt, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia have enriched his visual sensibility, reinforcing his ability to communicate ideas through clarity, color, and expressive form. Parallel to this, his work as a contributing photographer with international photo agencies in the United States, Spain, England, and Dubai cultivated a sharp observational eye that later became central to his painterly vision. A member of several respected artistic associations - including the Association of Fine Artists, the Art Lovers Association, the Egyptian Association of Caricature, and the Arab Photographers Association Hamdan has maintained an active presence in exhibitions locally and internationally. In 2015, he returned to Egypt with a renewed commitment to painting, marking a decisive turn toward his most personal artistic pursuit. His breakthrough came with the Vespa exhibition, where he demonstrated a vibrant command of watercolor, pastel, oil, and acrylic. Since then, his expressive, color-rich works have continued to captivate audiences. Drawing inspiration from his photographic background, Hamdan approaches painting through the lens of a photographer. Hamdan takes it upon himself to preserve the distinctive beauty of Cairo, through his work.
