**Gamal Melika**

Gamal Gad Melika is an Egyptian visual artist, born in Minya, Egypt, on September 1, 1954. He specialized in painting and developed his passion for art from an early age. At the age of seven, he participated in a young talents forum under the supervision of prominent Egyptian artists, including Hamed Nada and Ragheb Ayad, and received a certificate of appreciation from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

At the age of nineteen, Melika moved to Italy on a scholarship and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He obtained diplomas in Graphic Design and Interior Decoration, followed by a PhD in Painting and another doctorate specializing in stage and television set design and multimedia. He also took part in artistic projects related to Italian musical theatre and television.

Throughout his career, Melika has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Egypt, Italy, and across Europe. His work is characterized by a distinctive blend of Egyptian cultural heritage, symbolism, experimentation with color and materials, and contemporary artistic expression. He has received numerous awards and honors, including medals from Italian Presidents and Pope John Paul II, the Golden Feather Award, the Europe Award for Arts, and the Ambrogino Award from the City of Milan. He also founded and served as General Commissioner of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Biennale of Visual Arts and established the Gamal Melika Center for discovering and supporting artistic talent.
